HDMI cable for this cheap, and it works! That's really all you need to know about this product. Shipping took a while, sadly, so don't order this if you need it tomorrow. Sadly, if you do need it tomorrow, you'll wind up paying about ten times this price for exactly the same product at a local store. No joke. If you can even find one this long at a local store (which is rare). Don't listen to people who whine about signal quality, wire gauge size, lossy conductors, etc. This is *digital* - it either works or it don't. This one works just fine with my upconverting DVD player, my Xbox 360, and my HD cable box. It all looks perfect. While its technically not rated for in-wall runs, it works just fine inside a wall or hanging out in the back of your system. I recommend you buy several of these before you need them. Have them lying around. You will eventually need them anyway, and wouldn't you rather pay half of the retail of ONE cable and get 5-6 cables instead? I promise that the first time a neighbor or friend or coworker asks and you just hand them this, it'll be well worth the few bucks.
The persistent question remains. Which is better? An LCD TV or a plasma TV? Both are the latest technology available for your entertainment at home. Unlike the CRT televisions, LCD and plasma are less bulky and have high quality images and high resolution. They are playing at almost the same price and sometimes it is hard to arrive at a decision whether to buy a plasma or an LCD.
It is actually very easy. You just have to establish whether how you want to use your television. Both plasma and LCD uses very different technology.
Plasma televisions have phosphors. They have thousands of pixels with the primary colors red, green, and blue. These primary colors, you will be able to produce many variety of colors, different shades, different hues, thus making the picture come alive. Plasma TVs have two panels and in between them are gases neon or xenon. When electric current passes through the gas, they become liquid and can then produce light. This light fuels the pixels, and the pixels will altogether form an image. All of these happens in a matter of 50 frames per second. If your sole purpose is to watch movies or TV shows, plasma TV is the one for you. It has a higher resolution and the picture is much clearer than that of the LCD TVs.
Let us now talk about LCD televisions. LCD on the other hand, is made up of crystals. A panel of cells is filled with these crystals in a liquid medium. As electricity passes through the panel of cells, the liquid crystals either allow or block the light. It works like a prism. When you block the light, different colors are displayed. If you are using your television to view photos from your camcorders or play computer games, it is recommended that you buy an LCD TV.
LCD and plasma televisions each have their advantages and disadvantages. They work well in their own areas of "expertise." Depending on how you will be using you television most of the time will be your basis on which one to purchase.
